After being accepted and prior to your trip, you will be asked to make a sliding scale contribution of ($700-$850 Unplugged and $250-$350 BDS Institute) towards the cost of your trip.* This contribution is non-refundable except in the event that the trip is cancelled.
We encourage those who can pay more to do so. Personal fundraising has been very successful for our participants and at the bottom of this page is a template for a letter you are welcome to use. We are also raising money for scholarships for some on-the-ground expenses so that no one will be excluded from Birthright Unplugged due to lack of funds. Unfortunately, we are not in a position to help with plane fares.
The amount you pay includes all transportation, meals and lodging during the seven days of travel, but does not include airfare. You are free to purchase additional food and drink, souvenirs, and gifts at your discretion, and to make donations to individual organizations we meet with. For BDS + I institute participants, your trip contribution also covers breakfast, lunch and lodging during the additional institute days. You should expect to spend 10% more than Birthright Unplgged fees on a meal or two, any solo transportation, internet, etc. plus airfare.
* Checks and money orders must be in US currency. Please apply even if financing the trip presents a challenge.
